Setting Your Timezone Correctly

Getting your timezone right is one of the most important setup steps. If it's wrong, clients will see incorrect booking times.

Why Timezone Matters

Farset stores all bookings in UTC internally and converts them to your local time for display. If your timezone is set to the wrong region, slots will appear at the wrong time — for example, a 10am slot might show as 2am or 10pm.

How to Set Your Timezone

  1. Go to Availability in your left sidebar
  2. Click Edit Schedule
  3. Find the Timezone dropdown
  4. Search for and select your correct timezone (e.g. Europe/London, America/New_York, Australia/Sydney)
  5. Click Save

Common UK/Ireland Timezones

  • England, Scotland, Wales: Europe/London
  • Ireland: Europe/Dublin
  • Northern Ireland: Europe/London

Common US Timezones

  • Eastern: America/New_York
  • Central: America/Chicago
  • Mountain: America/Denver
  • Pacific: America/Los_Angeles

After Changing Timezone

  • New bookings will use the updated timezone immediately
  • Existing bookings are stored in UTC and will display correctly in the new timezone
  • Clients who already booked will see their original time in the emails they received

Troubleshooting: Clients reporting wrong booking times?

  1. Check your Availability timezone setting
  2. Ask the client what time they see in their confirmation email vs what they expected
  3. If there's a consistent offset (e.g. always 1 hour wrong), your timezone may be set to a neighbouring region
  4. Update the timezone and advise new clients accordingly
